چکیده

IntroductIon In 2002, Cherqui et al. reported the first purely laparoscopic living‐donor left lateral sectionectomy (LDLLS).[1] This technique has now become a standardized procedure and has significantly shortened donor hospitalization.[2] The da Vinci robotic surgical system was introduced into the field of liver surgery more than 10 years ago. Its flexible mechanical “wrist” and stable three‐dimensional (3D) visual field help minimize risks from complicated procedures. However, robotic LDLLS has not yet been reported. Recently, we performed such a case of robotic LDLLS.

Laparoscopic living donor hepatectomy

Shortage of deceased donor organs led to establishment of living donor liver transplantation. Recent reports have strongly suggested that laparoscopic approach should be the gold standard for lesions in the left lateral section. Laparoscopic living donor left lateral sectionectomy was first described in 2002. Subsequently, laparoscopic procurement of left lateral sections was shown to be safe a...

Laparoscopic left lateral sectionectomy for living liver donation: the Ghent University experience

The first laparoscopic living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) was described in 2002, and since then, this procedure has taken to be accepted because of technical difficulties and demanding surgical skills. Left lateral sectionectomy is the graft of choice for pediatric LDLT. Our technique of laparoscopic left lateral sectionectomy for LDLT in herein described. From January 2009 to March 2017...

Current status of laparoscopic liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma

Laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) is becoming widely accepted for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Laparoscopic left lateral sectionectomy and minor laparoscopic liver resection are now considered standard approaches, especially for tumors located in the anterolateral segments of the liver. Laparoscopic left lateral sectionectomy in adult donors is also gaining acceptance for c...

Left Lateral Sectionectomy of the Native Liver and Combined Living-Related Liver–Kidney Transplantation for Primary Hyperoxaluria Type 1

Primary hyperoxaluria type I (PH1), the most severe form of primary hyperoxalurias, is a liver disease of the metabolic defect in glyoxylate detoxification that can be corrected by liver transplantation. A 21-year-old man presented to our center after 4 months of regular hemodialysis for kidney failure caused by nephrolithiasis. A diagnosis of PH1 was confirmed by mutations of the AGXT gene. Le...

Initial Experiences with Laparoscopy-assisted and Total Laparoscopy for Anatomical Liver Resection: A Preliminary Study

Although laparoscopic surgery has become more popular, its technical difficulties have limited the applications of this technique to liver surgery. We report here on our experience with liver resection with using the laparoscopy-assisted (Lap-Assist) and total laparoscopic (Total-Lap) methods. From April 2001 to June 2003, a total of 20 laparoscopic anatomical resections of the liver were retro...
